Conservation & WildlifeEcology

You want to develop your skills and awareness of bats to improve your ability to protect bats at work. With the help of expert tutors you will examine the methods that can be used to identify or rule out potential roost features in trees. Through practical sessions you will also develop useful practical skills including appropriate use of endoscopes, and be given guidance on what can and cannot be done without a bat licence.

This course is the second in a series of 2 courses designed to give arboriculture professionals a comprehensive awareness of bats. Participants must have completed our Scoping Surveys for Arborists course before undertaking this course.

Lantra certificate available for additional £38.

Please note full use of an endoscope in bat surveys is only available to those with a bat licence - this course will not completely negate the need to work with a bat ecologist in certain situations.

About Bat Conservation Trust

The Bat Conservation Trust is the leading non-governmental organisation in the United Kingdom solely devoted to the conservation of bats and the landscapes on which they rely. To achieve our vision of a world rich in wildlife where bats and people thrive together, our work focuses on discovering more about bats and how they use the landscape, taking action to protect bats and enhance the landscapes on which they rely, inspiring people about bats and their environment, engaging them in their conservation and strengthen our work by building skills, resources, motivation and understanding.
