Course: Introduction to Identifying Trees in Winter
Derbyshire Wildlife Trust
This hands-on workshop is a great opportunity to enhance your nature knowledge and appreciation for the beauty of
trees in all seasons. You'll be lead through the basics of winter broadleaf tree
identification, and learn how to recognise different species when they have shed their leaves - from bark patterns to twig shapes - with a guided walk session to put your skills into practice.
Level: Beginner/no previous experience
Age: 14+ (under 16s booking onto this course must be accompanied by a paying adult )
About your tutor:
This course will be run by Simon Lowe, Training Officer at Derbyshire Wildlife Trust. He has over twenty years of experience planning and leading work parties and managing volunteers in the conservation sector alongside delivering practical and theoretical training in a broad range of traditional habitat management skills. He has a particular specialism in woodland management and regularly delivers training on behalf of the National Forest Company.
