As part of ARC’s ’Saving Scotland’s Amphibians and Reptiles’ (SSAAR) project, we will be running a series of free virtual (via Teams) training covering UK amphibian and reptile species identification and an introduction to survey methods.

The first two courses are the same 'reptile ID and survey methods' but we are offering them on a lunch time or evening. Please only book ONE timeslot (the content is the same for both sessions). This online training session is suitable for beginners or those who want a refresher (ready for the survey season).

This course focuses on species found in the UK but open to anyone who would like to join.

About Amphibian and Reptile Conservation

The Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Trust (ARC) was established in June 2009, making its debut at the Hampton Court Flower Show with its Bronze Medal winning ‘Dragon’s Garden’. ARC was created around the core of the Herpetological Conservation Trust (HCT), in response to the wider needs of herpetofauna conservation, providing the UK focus for all aspects of reptile and amphibian conservation. Thus, ARC looks more broadly than the traditional focus on nature reserve management and rare species action plans and advocacy that had been the main reason for HCT’s formation in 1989.
