Course: City and Guilds Introduction to Trainer Skills
Derbyshire Wildlife Trust
Do you want to develop the confidence to share your knowledge and skills with others effectively? Look no further than our 2-day accredited Trainer Skills Course.
This hands-on course provides participants with an understanding of a systematic approach to training and is ideal for anyone who delivers training to internal staff, volunteers or external partners, no matter the topic. The course is equally valuable for those who want to gain new skills and the confidence to present information in a clear and engaging way, whether passing on your practical skills to new audiences or hosting inclusive and engaging knowledge shares and workshops.
What will you learn?
The course is based on the training cycle, covering three main areas:
- Planning: Learn how to plan a structured session and how understanding the needs of your audience can deliver better outcomes for your audience
- Delivery: Participants will deliver a 15 minute 'session' in a supportive group environment on a topic of their choice that they have planned using skills learned on the course.
- Evaluation: Learn how to evaluate your own sessions, as well as peer group and course evaluation.
How is the course structured?
Session 1 - 09:30 - 16:30: Principles of Trainer Skills
Session 2 - 09:30 - 16:30: Practical delivery session
Upon successful completion of both sessions, participants will gain an accredited Level 2 Qualification in Trainer Skills. There are no prerequisites to attend this training but participants must attend both sessions.
