This new course is designed to give early career ecologists a foundation in the principles of bat surveys. The course covers the need for bat surveys through the various stages including survey conception and design.
Contents of the course include survey planning, PEA desk studies, carrying out PRAs, hibernation surveys, presence and absence surveys, roost characterisation surveys, and different survey techniques.
The course content is developed in line with the Bat Surveys for Professional Ecologists, 4th Edition and the Bat Emergence Surveys with Night Vision Aids Guide. It is designed to train anyone involved in bat work to a professional standard; whether you're working towards your bat license, or you just want to refresh your knowledge.
