Course: Grant Writing for Wildlife Conservation
WildTeam
Why take this course?
The competition for every conservation grant is huge, so you have to get a lot of things right to have any chance of success. To even begin to be considered, you will have to present an impact-focused application that aligns exactly with donor requirements. That alone, however, may not be enough. You will also need to create a well structured application filled with compelling, well-written content, in which all key points are either justified and/or backed up with hard evidence.
Beyond that, you can increase your chances further by appropriate use of graphics, photos, quotes, and graphs to highlight key information and bring the application to life. Once you have completed the Grant Writing for Wildlife Conservation course, you will be able to meet all these requirements and more. More importantly, for the rest of your career, you will be able to raise more funds to support the conservation work you are most passionate about.
Career starters: Improve your chances of getting your dream conservation job by getting a qualification in a required skill for many conservation positions.
Practitioners: Learn how to manage conservation projects more efficiently and in a way that achieves maximum impact.
What will I learn?
This training course has been developed with input from funders and experienced practitioners to help conservationists create high-quality grant applications.
You will learn how to:
- Select the grant that is right for your project.
- Gather the information needed to develop your grant application.
- Create content for the application.
- Enhance and refine that content to make sure your application stands out and is easy to understand.
- Process the application from submission to responding to the result.
What will my learning experience be like?
WildTeam courses are delivered online and on demand, so you can study in your own time and at your own pace.
You will work through practical course materials, activities, and assessments designed to help you build skills you can apply in real conservation work. Once you have completed the course and passed the required exams, you will receive a certificate to recognise your achievement.
The course contains 20 video lessons, 22 exercises, quizzes and a final exam. We estimate the course will take 22 hours to complete.
