Course: Wild Ways to Writing

Are you looking to develop a creative writing practice that draws on your ecological knowledge and work, seeking creative ways to express environmental issues to a wider audience, looking to complement the technical / scientific language you use, or to add an ecospiritual dimension to your worldview?

My name is Dr Helen Moore, and I'm an internationally acclaimed ecopoet, writer, mentor and scholar. I have worked on a range of cross arts-science projects, researching alongside river ecologists, microbiologists and oceanographers in the field, and mentoring people internationally through my Wild Ways to Writing programme and bespoke mentoring.

I support mentees to find words, images and narrative structures / poetic forms to express their experiences and insights and to develop the craft of touching others through the power and magic of language.

Work with me at your own pace – weekly, fortnightly, or monthly sessions to suit your schedule – through a rich writing programme of 13 assignments.

I’ll mentor you by offering resources, short extracts and prompts for your outdoor explorations, which will inspire you to write, be it poetry or prose.

Themes include Creative Edge / Threshold / Boundary; Saltwater, Freshwater; Interdependence & Roots; Empathy & Communion; Nature & Language.

I’ll also provide constructive feedback to the work you send me, via email and video calls, which will steadily develop your confidence and craft as a writer.
