Our Biodiversity Shorts are a series of webinars that delve into a range of natural history topics, with live discussion and tuition from an expert tutor. All webinars will be hosted on Zoom, and they will be approximately one hour long, including time for questions from participants.
Thursday 24th September 2026, 7pm – 8pm - Waxcap Identification for Beginners with Richard Thompson - Learn how to recognise some of the UK’s most colourful and distinctive fungi in this beginner-friendly introduction to waxcap identification.
Monday 26th October 2026, 7pm – 8pm - Plant Adaptations with Karen van Oostrum - Learn how plants adapt to some of the world’s most extreme and contrasting environments in this engaging introduction to plant evolution and specialisation.
Thursday 29th October 2026, 1-2pm - Build it for Biodiversity: Creating Ponds that Help Wildlife Thrive - Ponds are among the UK’s most important wildlife habitats, yet creating one that truly supports biodiversity takes more than digging a hole and adding water.
