Build confidence in R and turn ecological datasets into clear, useful outputs for reports and research.

This beginner-friendly online course is suited to ecologists, environmental consultants, conservation practitioners, researchers, and students who want to strengthen their data skills.

Using examples from ecology and wildlife research, you’ll practise:

  • Importing, organising, and tidying data in RStudio.
  • Working with data frames and joining tables.
  • Transforming and summarising datasets.
  • Creating clear figures using ggplot2.

No previous experience of R is required. The course provides a practical foundation for preparing ecological data for further analysis and communicating your findings.

Study online from the UK, at your own pace during the spring term. Choose the Basic format for independent study, or Standard or Premium for instructor support.

Instructor: Dr Jack Hopkins.
