We have an exceptional opportunity for an experienced marine mammal specialist to join our growing offshore team in a Senior Environmental Consultant role. We are seeking a dynamic individual with relevant experience who is looking to progress their career within an ambitious renewable energy consultancy, working primarily in offshore wind projects. The main purpose of the role is to ensure the successful co- ordination, management, delivery and QA of marine mammal ecology inputs into projects including environmental impact assessments and habitats regulations assessments. You will have relevant project experience of ecological impact assessments for marine mammals and of renewable energy infrastructure, and have the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.

You will work alongside a team of environmental consultants as well other offshore specialists covering planning, ornithology, benthic habitats, and fisheries. We are a growing, forward thinking, collaborative, and open team, helping the UK transition to green energy and reduce carbon emissions. We encourage individuals to maximise their potential and enable individuals to contribute towards the success of the departments, which look to be at the forefront of the industry, adding value to renewables projects and making a difference. Key activities / responsibilities will include:

  • Be responsible for the specific co-ordination and delivery of offshore wind projects, principally, marine mammal assessments relevant to Environmental Impact Assessment/Environmental Statement, Habitats Regulations Assessment, marine licence applications, screening/scoping and feasibility studies
  • Maintain and develop relationships with clients, colleagues, consultee bodies and industry contacts to successfully deliver projects and assist our continued business growth
  • Engage and manage stakeholders, dealing with queries and addressing issues as well as organising and attending public exhibitions
  • Manage, mentor and support the personal development of junior members of the Planning & Environment team as requested by Managers
  • Responsibility for the on-time, on-quality, on-budget delivery of projects, coordinating resources to achieve milestones
