Business description:

The business focusses on marine factors but also has a strong sustainability in business track record. In the past year the business has delivered training for climate literacy in a national NGO, and for marine aspects of a fisheries diploma. The company has been contracted to complete long- and short-term projects to coordinate and deliver strategic environmental changes. The expertise in-house has also the potential to increase compliance and management for ISO standards, GRI reporting, carbon foot printing and compliance management. Consenting assessment for developments and biodiversity assessments with an increase in capacity and skills. The company is on several procurement frameworks however capacity to respond these is currently limited in resources available to monitor them. 

Role:

This is a hybrid role supporting a growing consultancy and Environmental Not for Profit. Keeping the larger projects supported and completing key administration to develop procurement, tendering and business development to grow the business further. Winning new projects for the business’s technical strengths, which the bonus will be attached to. The role will also be providing similar support to a volunteer run not for profit, promoting its work, and delivering key roles do sustain the foundation like volunteer recruitment, event coordination, promotion of data and media with supporting businesses and funders. The role may also be requested to deputise for the director during leave in project or supporting the team members. This is full time role with the director of the business and a growing team of technical specialists. The company also uses contractors and assignment-based team members that would be working with and managed by the role.

Job Summary:

The role will help manage the projects that the business has and to win new projects, keeping target on time, delivery project activities commercially and report to, clients, funders or regulators. The role will deliver own projects and tasks internally and direct for clients. Working within the organisation and with contractors to deliver strong technical and professional services for clients to return to the organisation. Similar services and support provided to the not-for-profit foundation for funders and supporters.

Duties:

The below duties include but not limited to:

Technical Delivery

  • Technical & Commercial development of proposals
  • Project delivery, coordination and client management
  • Project administration internally and externally
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Quality control of reports, tasks and data
  • Procurement management of new potential projects, business development
  • Development of sales and delivery

Administration duties

  • Diary/task management for projects
  • Meeting arrangements (face to face and virtual)
  • Travel arrangements and accommodation
  • Taking meeting minutes from project activity
  • Invoice and product tracking
  • Issuing contracts to clients
  • Event organisation

Candidate requirements

  • This is a hybrid role with office space available in Stockbury, remote working is permitted. Meetings with businesses team will be based in London or other locations depending on work requirements (equipment to work remotely will be provided with Microsoft 365).
  • Project Management skills and/or experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Initiative and team management skills
  • Capable to work autonomously
  • Computer literate
  • International experience/culturally aware ideally
  • Strong communication skills and confident in picking up the phone and speaking to 3rd parties when required
