About Plant Your Future

Plant Your Future is an international grassroots environmental charity with a bold vision: to restore the Amazon Rainforest. We empower Peruvian smallholder farmers to adopt sustainable agroforestry practices, helping them generate income through the sale of sustainably harvested fruit, timber, and carbon credits.

Our work addresses the climate crisis by reducing deforestation pressure, protecting high-conservation-value rainforests, and preserving biodiversity, including many threatened species. Since our inception, we’ve collaborated with 59 rural communities in the Peruvian Amazon, planting over 780,000 trees across 248 farms.

We are ambitious about the future and aim to reach one million trees and beyond. To help us achieve this, we are seeking a talented and motivated Grant Writer/Fundraising Manager to grow our income from Trusts & Foundations.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled, self-starting fundraiser with a successful track record in grants and donor engagement. You will play a pivotal role in researching and securing funding opportunities, managing donor relationships, and supporting individual giving campaigns. Working closely with the Managing Director and Project & Operations Manager, you’ll help Plant Your Future achieve its transformative goals.

The role is remote, offering flexibility, but you must be able to travel for donor meetings, events, and occasional team meetings in Oxford and London.

Key Responsibilities

Trusts & Foundations Fundraising:

• Research and identify new funding opportunities aligned with Plant Your Future’s vision.
• Lead the writing of high-quality funding proposals and reports, building relationships with new and existing donors.

Donor Relationship Management:

• Steward relationships with existing and potential donors, including managing donor communications and updates.
• Maintain and update our donor CRM database, ensuring accurate records of applications, reporting deadlines, and relationships.

Campaign Support:

• Support stewardship activities for individual giving campaigns.
• Contribute to donor retention strategies to grow our supporter base.

Strategic Planning:

• Work collaboratively with the team to develop log frames, budgets, and plans for donor proposals.
• Contribute to the development of fundraising strategies and initiatives.

About You

We’re looking for a proactive, independent professional with exceptional writing skills and a passion for environmental sustainability and international development.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

• At least 2 years’ experience in fundraising, with a successful track record in Trusts & Foundations applications.
• Proven ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with donors.
• Experience developing log frames for activities and outcomes.
• Competence in creating and managing fundraising budgets.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with fluent English.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.

Desirable Experience:

• Proficiency in Spanish and experience working with international teams.
• Established relationships and networks with Trusts & Foundations.
• Experience working with Trustees and volunteers.
• Knowledge of international development and environmental donors, particularly those focused on South America or rainforests.
• Experience with fundraising for projects in the Global South.
