Graduates (Energy Analyst and Energy Planner)

At Regen, we recognise that graduates are the lifeblood of our organisation. We are currently seeking two dynamic, energetic and highly motivated graduates to join our Graduate Programme. As part of this programme, you’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of the energy sector while working on a diverse range of projects that encourage cross-team collaboration.
Graduate energy analyst: Regen applies analytical expertise to address the most pressing challenges facing the energy system and to influence thinking across the sector. As a graduate energy analyst, you will contribute to high-impact advisory projects with energy networks, local authorities and renewable energy developers, as well as support Regen’s work shaping national energy policy.
Graduate energy planner: Regen is at the forefront of advocating for reforms to the planning system that accelerate the consenting process for clean energy projects while ensuring that communities remain at the heart of decision-making. This role will involve supporting research into the planning system and its impact on renewable energy deployment, as well as exploring key themes such as community benefits and effective community engagement in the planning process. You will support our responses to policy consultations, contribute to thought leadership and play a role in facilitating Regen’s Planning Working Group with our network of members and stakeholders.
Skills and experience
- A degree or master’s level qualification (or equivalent) with good grades in a relevant subject
- Demonstrable commitment to your work, excellent teamwork and the ability to plan and organise your workload effectively
- A proactive mindset to consistently deliver high-quality work and make a positive impact
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in the energy sector or related industries is highly valued
- Proficiency in using various analysis software or programming languages, such as MS Excel, SQL, GIS or Python (specific to graduate energy analyst role)
- Interest and knowledge of energy networks or energy systems is preferred (specific to graduate energy analyst role)
- Experience in social science research methods, such as surveys, interviews and focus groups (specific to graduate energy planner role)
- Interest and knowledge of the planning system and community engagement (specific to graduate energy planner role).

Interviews
Suitable candidates will be invited to an in-person interview. Interviews are expected to take place at our Exeter office in the week commencing 19 May 2025 or 16 June 2025, with some flexibility by arrangement.
At the interview stage, candidates will be asked to give a presentation and complete an additional task.
Start dates
The expected start date is September 2025, with some flexibility by arrangement.
