Carbon, Climate & Energy

Administrative Assistant

Full time (35 hours per week), permanent. Part time hours will be considered.

Office based in Edinburgh

Would you like a career where you make a real difference to people’s lives and help to tackle the climate emergency? Then why not apply to join the Home Energy Scotland team employed by Changeworks, a leading organisation in Scotland dedicated to decarbonising Scotland’s homes and a just transition to net zero?

Home Energy Scotland is funded by the Scottish Government and delivered by Changeworks in the South East and Highlands and Islands. Our advisors deliver free, impartial advice around reducing energy use to save money on bills, ways to keep your home warmer, renewable technologies, cutting water waste and more.

We are recruiting an Administrative Assistant to play a key role in the delivery of our Advice Centre services. We’re looking for a proactive team player with good interpersonal and organisational skills.

On a day-to-day basis, you'll be managing and organising data, helping out with event logistics, and maintaining accurate records on our customer database. There will also be a range of ad-hoc tasks, including meeting support, travel bookings, recruitment admin, and team events.

Through collaboration with passionate colleagues across operations, marketing, and advice services, you’ll be contributing to our mission of helping people live in warmer, more energy-efficient homes.

If you’re a team player with excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and a positive, solutions-focused mindset, we’d love to hear from you.

About us

Changeworks is a great place to work. We hold Investors in People Platinum accreditation (something only a few organisations in Scotland have), and we were nominated for employer of the year by the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce this year. Our staff overwhelmingly would recommend us as an employer too.

The Climate Emergency has resulted in ambitious national targets to reduce carbon emissions from the built environment and reduce rates of fuel poverty. This has driven a significant increase in the number of pilot and large-scale interventions delivered by Changeworks and external organisations in this area. These include area-based domestic energy efficiency retrofit and decarbonisation projects and programmes.

We are a growing organisation, and this role is crucial to the delivery of our ambitious objectives. We want to decarbonise homes in Scotland on a massive scale, and that needs talented individuals like you to help us deliver on our objectives. You’ll receive full training plus coaching and mentoring.

We offer a wide range of staff benefits including flexible working, bike to work scheme, an excellent pension scheme and 26 days paid holiday plus 9 public holidays per year.

At Changeworks, we welcome and encourage applications from everyone.

Closing date for applications: 12pm, Friday 16 May 2025

Interviews: Week commencing Monday 19 May 2025
