Senior Policy and Evidence Officer (0.5FTE)
(Fixed term contract, to 31 March 2026)
This role is part time (18.5 hours per week) . We encourage flexible working.
We would welcome applications from external candidates or for secondments from National Park Authorities or partner agencies, but we are only looking for candidates with experience of working in National Parks in a policy and/ or practical delivery context.
Responsible to Policy and Public Affairs Manager
Location – Home (remote) with occasional travel to English National Park
Authorities and across the UK
Salary – £33,000 - £38,000 per annum pro rata.
This post is fixed term until 31 March 2026 with extension possible subject to funding.

National Parks England’s purpose is to be the collective voice for English National Park Authorities, helping us to achieve our purposes through influencing policy. This includes playing a key role in representing National Parks as we work with colleagues across National Landscapes, National Parks, and National Trails as part of the Protected Landscapes Partnership.
We are seeking a Senior Policy and Evidence Officer to support building a stronger evidence base for our policy and advocacy work in National Parks.
As a key member of the team at National Parks England, you will contribute to research, policy analysis, and data analysis, ensuring that our work is grounded in the latest evidence and best practice. This role will involve working closely with colleagues in National Park Authorities, supporting the creation and use of key evidence, producing policy briefings and conducting desk based research and analysis.
