Landscape and Wetland Lead

We are looking for someone to fill a new pair of wellies…

Do you bore all your friends talking about wetlands? Do you love GIS and data analysis? Do you want to combine the two and help us deliver restoration projects here in the south of Scotland?

The Crichton Carbon Centre is delighted to be recruiting a new Landscape and Water Lead to join our team. This is an entirely new role for someone who can help expand our 15 years of experience of peatland restoration and land management into wider catchment and wetland restoration.

As this is a new permanent position at the Centre, we are looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated individual to use their skills and experience to establish the role. Excitingly, a significant focus of work over the next two years will be delivering the objectives of our new “Cairn to Coast” project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund as part of the ground breaking Solway Coast and Marine Project (SCAMP). The Cairn to Coast project has been developed to take the Centre’s successful approaches to prioritising, designing and delivering peatland restoration and apply them to new environments, particularly coastal wetlands.

The Landscape and Wetland Lead post is a full time permanent appointment, working 37 hours a week. Flexible working can be discussed and reduced hours may be considered.

The post is offered at a starting remuneration of £35,000 Pro Rata. Higher remuneration will be considered for candidates with extensive and demonstrable experience that meets the desirable criteria for the role.

If you see this as a great opportunity to use your skills, help us deliver on the ground action and develop as an organisation, all with the camaraderie of working as part of a team and network of partner organisations, please answer this call!
