We're looking for a Nature Recovery Officer to join our team to help deliver actions and targets of our Hedges and Edges Nature Recovery Project. This will require significant work in the field, alongside a regular presence in our Kendal office.

Salary: £29,740 FTE (full time equivalent)
Hours: Part-time (28 hrs per week).
Duration: Initial 23 month contract, with an ambition to extend subject to funding and project progress

This is a perfect time to be joining the Friends of the Lake District team. Building on our 91-year history, we have a new strategic focus on some key themes like Climate, Water, Planning, Tourism, and Nature Friendly Farming. The Nature Recovery Officer will lead a flagship project aimed at delivering real impact in the Cumbrian landscape.

Who are we looking for?

You have a passion for landscape management, and you’re an excellent communicator. You’re adept at building relationships, and your project management skills are second to none. You are self-motivated and proactive. You have experience of leading projects, and being accountable for impact reporting. You’re used to working in partnership, and collaboratively within organisations. You’ve worked with farmers, landowners, and landscape management contractors.
