Are you passionate about education, sustainability, and inspiring change in young minds? Do you want to play a key role in encouraging healthier, greener travel choices across West Yorkshire?

If you’re ready to make a difference in your community while developing your skills in education, engagement, and programme delivery, we’d love to hear from you!

 About the Role

As a Modeshift STARS Education Officer, you’ll work with schools across West Yorkshire to support and grow their involvement in the Modeshift STARS accreditation scheme – a national programme that encourages walking, wheeling, cycling, and public transport for everyday journeys.

You’ll be the face of Modeshift in the region – supporting school staff, leading training sessions, delivering fun and engaging travel programmes, and sharing inspiring case studies. You’ll collaborate with local authorities and key partners, helping ensure the next generation chooses active, sustainable travel.

 We’re Looking for Someone Who:

  • Loves working with schools and inspiring young people
  • Has excellent stakeholder and customer service skills
  • Can confidently deliver training and engaging sessions
  • Understands behaviour change and how to motivate others
  • Is highly organised, independent, and driven by impact

Experience working in education, training or travel planning is a bonus – but passion, motivation and the right attitude go a long way.

 What You'll Be Doing:

  • Implement, monitor and report on the Modeshift STARS Education Delivery Plan for West Yorkshire focusing on the growth and retention of Primary, Secondary and SEND sites participating in the scheme
  • Providing one-to-one support, resources, guidance, advice, training and workshops to the West Yorkshire delivery team and partners to ensure they have the latest knowledge and best practice
  • Collaborating with local authority partners and stakeholders to showcase success through case studies and reports
  • Delivering high quality, premium services, championing inclusivity and safeguarding

Modeshift is a not-for-profit organisation championing sustainable travel and healthier communities. We’re passionate about inspiring change and supporting our Members to deliver real impact. You’ll be part of a warm, collaborative team with big ambitions and a genuine passion for what we do.

 You’ll Need:

  • 3 A-levels or NVQ equivalent (graduate/professional qualifications a plus)
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

Please note the closing date for applications is close of business Friday 15th August 2025.
