Communities Programme Manager - Maternity Cover
Stepney City Farm
The Communities Programme Manager oversees the Farm’s engagement of local community groups and a diverse range of adult beneficiaries. Two key programmes managed by the role are the Farm’s twice-weekly Greencare Volunteering sessions, and the Community Growing Beds programme; but the post holder is also responsive to ad hoc requests for community group tours; one-off sessions and workshops; and organises occasional events to bring different beneficiaries together with activities including cooking and sharing food.
The role of Communities Engagement Manager is currently being expanded from 3 to 4 days per week thanks to National Lottery funding. There will be some key objectives for the maternity cover post holder to meet which fall within the first year of the funding. These include designing and initiating a consultation with our communities and visitors to inform the development of free public programmes, identifying needs and co-designing activities to best serve them.
This will be the first step in strategically mapping our reach in the local community through partners and key connections, identifying any gaps and unrealised potential for the Farm to work with additional partners over the next 5 years.
