The Cotswolds Rivers Trust is looking for an individual to lead our growing programme of environmental restoration and community engagement work.

If you are passionate about healthy rivers, nature-based solutions, and making a real difference for local communities and wildlife, we would love to hear from you.

Why this role matters

Rivers across the Cotswolds are facing serious pressures, from pollution and habitat loss to the impacts of climate change. The Cotswolds Rivers Trust works to restore and protect these vital waterways, and we are scaling up our efforts.

This new role is a key step in our growth. The Project Officer will work closely with landowners, local communities, and partners to plan and deliver hands-on river restoration projects, organise volunteer and education activities, and contribute to outreach and communications.

You will have the chance to take real ownership of projects, shape how we work with stakeholders, and play a crucial role in delivering healthier, cleaner waters.

What we offer

  • A supportive and forward-thinking small team
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • The opportunity to lead meaningful, visible projects
  • Professional development opportunities
  • A real chance to help shape a growing environmental charity

About Cotswolds Rivers Trust

The Cotswolds Rivers Trust is a team of passionate and enthusiastic river champions dedicated to reversing the decline of our rivers. Our motto: ‘we get our feet wet’, reflects our hands-on approach to conservation since our incorporation in 2011. We don’t just talk about making a difference; we actively engage in on-the-ground projects that bring tangible improvements to our rivers. We make things happen and constantly strive to make a real and positive difference for the river, the surrounding landscape and its communities. The Cotswolds Rivers Trust covers those rivers that rise in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and flow into the River Thames.
