Purpose

The Little Book of Nature Business is book number nine in Global Canopy’s well-respected Little Book series, which explores complex issues at the interface between nature and finance.

Global Canopy will release The Little Book of Nature Business later this year. The book will present a new framework for nature business that supports the global transition toward a nature-positive economy. The book will build on the successful series of Little Books, notably on The Little Book on Investing in Nature and provide opportunities for investment that go far beyond investors’ current focus on regenerative agriculture and reforestation. The target audience for this book is the financial service sector – including both lenders and investors – and businesses.

Global Canopy is seeking an experienced copy editor to copy edit the forthcoming 250+ page book. We are looking for an experienced, diligent, and detail-oriented copy editor with past experience copy editing long-form books and writing content for a financial services and business audience.

The copy editor will be guided by Global Canopy’s editorial and style guidelines and follow the tone of earlier books in the Little Book series.

Workplan

The work involves copy editing a 250+ page book, which needs to be completed within a 10-day period over the course of September.

Timeline

This work must be carried out in September. It will include one review of all copy-edited content with feedback provided by reviewers, followed by a second round of copy-editing work to integrate all feedback.

Other information

Global Canopy has an allocated budget for this work and we will engage the successful copy editor on a consultancy basis. Day rates and anticipated number of days to be spent on the project are open for discussion based on experience.

While our office is based in Oxford, the work can be done remotely. We strongly welcome interest from candidates based anywhere in the UK or internationally (within a reasonable time zone relative to the UK).

Applications will be reviewed as they come in, and interviews will be held w/c 18 August.

By submitting your application, you consent to us holding your data in line with our policies. Global Canopy is under no obligation to engage anyone as a result of this search. Individual contracts will be negotiated as we initiate the work.
