The team

The Northern Ireland team sit within the Energy Directorate of Energy Saving Trust.

Our main focus is to deliver the Northern Ireland Sustainable Energy Programme (NISEP), and we also are involved in other work and deliver campaigns to help householders in Northern Ireland save energy and money.

The role 

This exciting role offers the opportunity to take charge of operational delivery while leading and supporting the programme support officers within the Northern Ireland team. You will collaborate closely with the project manager and assistant programme manager to ensure the successful execution of day-to-day activities for the Northern Ireland Sustainable Energy Programme (NISEP), managing up to £8m in annual funding. This is a key position for those passionate about driving impactful change in sustainable energy.

What you’ll do 

Manage and optimise a team of programme support officers, ensuring workflows are prioritised, email queries are addressed, and service delivery aligns with NISEP service level agreements (SLAs). Oversee complex payment claims, collaborate on reports, and approve NISEP claims up to £10k as the Energy Saving Trust signatory.

Maintain financial records, produce regular and ad-hoc reports, and support ISO audits and finance reporting. Lead customer feedback and complaints handling, resolving escalated issues and keeping the Utility Regulator informed. Identify areas for operational improvements and provide regular updates to the project manager on performance and actions.

What you’ll bring 

  • Demonstrated experience of managing employees.
  • Maintains integrity, upholds professional standards, and ensures high-quality customer service.
  • Demonstrated experience of operational and project management.
  • Excellent numeracy skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent IT skills (in particular Excel).
  • Experience of working in a target-driven environment.
  • Proven experience of continuous improvement and documenting processes.
