About the role

Are you passionate about caring for the environment? We have an exciting opportunity to join our Conservation team as a Conservation Advisor working with your colleagues to manage the habitats on our land. This will include implementing conservation plans and working with our stakeholders, to provide a positive contribution to biodiversity.

Within this role you will be supporting the management of invasive non-native species, including the implementation of biosecurity.

You will be responsible for ensuring conservation guidance is provided within agreed timescales, supported by a Conservation Specialist where required. This ensures recommendations are accurate to maintain trust and confidence.

In addition, you will ensure existing and new conservation data in the Geographical Information System (GIS) is correct. This means you will work with colleagues to support surveys of our landholdings.

The role will include working outdoors in all weathers, and there may be occasions when you will be working alone.

About you

If you have demonstrable experience of conservation practices including managing a range of habitats, we want to hear from you. The successful candidate will have a technical knowledge of conservation and biodiversity including legislation and policies.

You will have excellent communication skills and be able to provide clear and concise communication to stakeholders to ensure effective engagement. In addition, you will have an awareness of licensing processes for protected species to support the business.

You will enjoy developing your knowledge of NWL’s legal environmental obligations to ensure we remain compliant.

A full UK driving licence is essential for the role.
