We are looking for an experienced individual to join our team of rangers, which provides the
New Forest National Park Authority with a first point of contact throughout the National Park
and its surrounding communities.

Being practised at working with members of the public, you will provide face-to-face
interactions, helping them to enjoy and understand what makes the National Park special and
encourage a sense of care and responsibility whilst avoiding negative impacts.
You will use our mobile information unit to engage with Forest users and promote the New Forest
Code, give talks and guided walks, run seasonal activities, and attend local community events.
There will be resources to prepare, local businesses which need our literature, visitor surveys
to do and potential for some more practical projects.
We are looking for a skilled individual who can liaise effectively with different stakeholders,
including members of the public, partner organisations, and local communities.
You will probably have a real interest in the natural and cultural heritage of the National
Park, and your knack for clearly explaining countryside issues will help you confidently
communicate your knowledge and passion to a wide range of people.
This externally funded role requires a valid driving licence, is subject to a DBS check, and
involves working some weekends and bank holidays. Based at our office in Lymington, but
significant time will be spent within and just outside the boundary of the National Park,
especially in the southern and eastern areas.
This role is full-time at 37 hours per week, but part-time hours will be considered. The
starting salary is £30,184, with incremental progression up to £33,901 per annum. The quoted
salary range is based on full-time hours.
