Who we are

Energy Saving Trust is a leading and trusted organisation, dedicated to promoting energy efficiency, low carbon transport and sustainable energy use. We aim to address the climate emergency and deliver the wider benefits of clean energy as we transition to net zero.

At Energy Saving Trust we don’t just offer jobs – we offer careers. For our people, being part of the effort to address the climate emergency makes working for us truly meaningful and rewarding.

Here are some of the benefits we offer:

  • 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, with additional leave earned through length of service
  • Three extra days off over the Christmas period as a gesture of goodwill
  • A competitive pension scheme with generous employer contributions
  • Flexibility in our ways of working – work from home, in the office, or a mix of both, depending on your role
  • Two paid volunteering days per year – a chance to give back to the causes that matter most to you

Please see our careers page for the full list of benefits we have to offer and why Energy Saving Trust is a great place to work.

The team

You will be part of our Renewables team, working on the Energy Redress scheme. The team manages funding that helps charities and organisations support people in vulnerable situations, improve energy efficiency, and deliver projects that cut carbon and tackle fuel poverty.

We are a supportive and collaborative team with a strong focus on accuracy, fairness and impact. Working with us means you will directly contribute to ensuring that vital grant funding reaches the organisations and communities that need it most.

The role

As a Programme Administrator, you will play an important role in making sure that our grant funding is managed efficiently and fairly. Your work will focus on financial administration, carrying out checks on grant claims, and supporting colleagues with key processes that help charities and community groups deliver life-changing projects.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You’ll be helping to process claims, manage data, prepare documents for funding panels and ensure we meet the highest standards in administration and reporting.

What you’ll do

  • Carry out checks on grant claims to make sure they meet our criteria, following up with applicants and colleagues as needed.
  • Support the application process, including preparing panel packs, drafting grant offers, and gathering due diligence information.
  • Help keep our administrative systems, databases and financial records accurate and up to date.
  • Provide programme support including preparing for audits, collating information for funders, and monitoring project data.
  • Respond to enquiries and provide excellent customer service to applicants and stakeholders.

What you’ll bring

  • Strong administration and numeracy skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to follow clear processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of providing excellent customer service.
  • Confidence working with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

For more information, please see job description.

Applications close 23.59, 3 October 2025. Interviews are intended to be held mid October.
