Marine Conservation

Join us in reconnecting communities with Yorkshire's stunning marine and coastal environments.

Yorkshire Marine Nature Partnership seeks a passionate and pro-active individual to assist us in delivering the National Lottery-funded REConnect project. You will lead workstreams focussed on connecting people to the coastline in North Yorkshire around the River Esk, supporting volunteers, managing project activities, and promoting sustainability through community engagement.

We seek an individual with a strong understanding of Yorkshire's marine and coastal environments and the wider social and economic issues affecting the Esk and Coastal Streams Catchment. Experience in project development and delivery is required and you will be a skilled communicator who can build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders from scientists and community leaders to volunteers and partner organisations.

You will need to be resilient, proactive and confident in working across multiple workstreams, using your initiative to keep things moving and adapt to changing priorities. This role offers the chance to be part of a forward-thinking team committed to sustainability and community-led change. You will contribute to a nationally funded initiative that is helping to shape the future of coastal conservation in Yorkshire.

If you are ready to take on a role that blends environmental action with community empowerment, we would like to hear from you.

REConnect is a multi-strand programme led by North York Moors National Park and funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. This strand of the project is led by Yorkshire Marine Nature Partnership (YMNP), which is hosted by East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

Regular travel across the North Yorkshire coastline will be required with at least one day per week based in the office at County Hall, Beverley. Hours: 37 per week as part of a fixed term contract.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is pursuing equality of opportunity in employment.

BENEFITS: discounted leisure centre membership, staff discount scheme and potential for flexible working arrangements. You will be based in a beautiful part of the country, working for a council which is nationally recognised as one of the best in the country.
