We are hiring!

This is an exciting opportunity for a young person to get work experience for 12 months with the Langholm Initiative team. You will work on a wide range of projects supporting the development of the Tarras Valley Nature Reserve.

You will have recently graduated or completed other post school qualification and be looking for your first full time job.

Your role could include:

  • Supporting the reserve manager: Work may include development on regenerative agriculture as we transition our existing farm to regenerative practises; mapping; assisting with management of contracts; obtaining quotes for work and general day to day reserve management activities including woodland and land management.
  • Supporting the development manager: Work may include housing management, funding applications, project development on commercial properties, general running of the organisation
  • Working with our engagement officer: supporting school activity, organising volunteer activity, working with young people from the town
  • Other activity could include: supporting community engagement activity, organising community meetings, organising events, minute taking, developing posters and newsletters, social media, general admin, policy development, responding to visitor queries, staffing the visitor hub, survey work.
