Carbon, Climate & Energy

Full time or part time (21 - 35 hours per week), permanent.

Are you passionate about tackling the climate emergency? Do you want to be part of Changeworks – a leading organisation dedicated to decarbonising Scotland’s homes and a just transition to net zero? We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our growing team supporting the delivery of domestic retrofit projects across Scotland.

We are looking for a Household Support Officer who will assist our householders through the retrofit adaption journey to their home. From explaining the steps to resolving any complaints, your role will be to work with a range of stakeholders to ensure that the householder receives an excellent service. You’ll have the ability to resolve problems and implement lessons learned, as well as working across the wider team to support our range of projects. Ideally, you’ll have knowledge of the sector, however having an excellent track record in customer service is really core to this. You will be engaging with householders over the phone, via email and in person in their homes and at events. The ability to travel to different sites across Scotland will be required.

Your nearest office will be in Edinburgh, and we encourage people to meet with colleagues regularly. We offer flexible working patterns to support your life outside work, with part time hours available at a minimum of 21 hours per week.

About us

Changeworks is a great place to work. We hold Investors in People Platinum accreditation (something only a few organisations in Scotland have), and we were nominated for employer of the year by the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce this year. Our staff overwhelmingly would recommend us as an employer too.

The Climate Emergency has resulted in ambitious national targets to reduce carbon emissions from the built environment and reduce rates of fuel poverty. This has driven a significant increase in the number of pilot and large-scale interventions delivered by Changeworks and external organisations in this area. These include area-based domestic energy efficiency retrofit and decarbonisation projects and programmes.

We are a growing organisation, and this role is crucial to the delivery of our ambitious objectives. We want to decarbonise homes in Scotland on a massive scale, and that needs talented individuals like you to help us deliver on our objectives. You’ll receive full training plus coaching and mentoring.

We offer a wide range of staff benefits including flexible working, bike to work scheme, an excellent pension scheme and 26 days paid holiday plus 9 public holidays per year.

At Changeworks, we welcome and encourage applications from everyone.
