Are you an experienced project manager with a passion for the environment?

If so, we have an exciting opportunity to lead Derbyshire Dales District Council on its journey to being a net zero organisation by 2030, building on the significant achievements made and taking advantage of existing and future grant funding initiatives to achieve this

We have a series of funded projects underway to help deliver this goal and are looking for someone who can drive these forward and spearhead the Council’s environmental agenda.

The Council is committed to enhancing the biodiversity of the district through our Nature Delivery Plan and the post holder will lead the delivery of this plan, seeking opportunities for funding and collaborative working.

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate, with track record of delivering key projects and a passion for the environment, who can successfully engage with the Council, partners, businesses, residents and the wider community to influence positive action.

Our ambitious Corporate Plan has a ‘green thread’ running right through it, so the successful candidate will be required to work across the full range of Council services, taking on the responsibility for driving forward our plans, monitoring and reporting on progress and delivering on objectives.

You should have:

  • A passion for the environment with a sound working knowledge of climate change and biodiversity issues
  • Highly developed project management skills
  • Effective communication and inter-personal skills
  • Experience of multi-agency working
  • Enthusiastic, creative and have a positive approach!

Derbyshire Dales has been voted to be in the top 10 places to live in the whole of the UK (2019) and is a beautiful place to live, work and visit. It benefits from some fantastic towns and countryside, all within easy reach of Sheffield, Manchester, Nottingham and Derby. We offer an excellent quality of life within a family-friendly organisation that delivers high quality services and where the right candidate will be able to make a real impact.
