About the role

Dacorum Borough Council declared a Climate and Ecological Emergency in 2019 and is committed to supporting a borough-wide response. A key part of this commitment is the Dacorum Climate Action Network (DCAN) — a community-led network aimed at supporting residents, groups and organisations to take local climate action.

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic DCAN Co-ordinator to grow and embed this exciting network, ensuring it becomes a high-impact initiative at the heart of our community climate response.

This role will lead on engagement, communications, events, and partnership working, while showcasing and amplifying climate-related projects across the borough.

About you

The ideal candidate will be:

  • A strong communicator with excellent engagement and partnership skills.
  • Experienced in community engagement programmes and climate/sustainability initiatives.
  • Comfortable working independently and proactively, with strong event management and organisational skills.
  • Adept and proactive in generating content for newsletters, social media, etc.
  • Flexible to occasionally work evenings and weekends to support events.

A Basic check will be undertaken with the Disclosure and Barring Service to ensure that the successful candidate has no relevant convictions.
