
Active Travel Lead Officer

Westmorland and Furness Council have a dedicated team working on Active Travel, to recognise the importance that the Government and the Council are placing on getting more people travelling actively (walking, wheeling and cycling) for everyday journeys.
The Active Travel Team is part of the Council's Sustainable Transport and Highways Service, which develops and deliver strategies, policies and projects to support the development of an inclusive, sustainable and integrated transport system across the Westmorland and Furness area.
We are looking to recruit a Lead Officer to join a committed, friendly and supportive team to support the growth of active travel in the area.
Do you have expertise in some of the following: developing plans for walking and cycling routes, active travel scheme design and delivery, behavioural change OR a strong interest in active travel, complemented by excellent project and contract management skills. We are looking for a lead officer with a passion to seek investment in active travel infrastructure and promote behavioural change.

Salary (Lead Officer): £47,181 - £48,226
Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: Westmorland and Furness area wide remit with offices in Barrow, Penrith and Kendal
(Office base to be agreed with some home working possible)
