About the role 

The British Library and Camden Libraries are looking to recruit a Camden Green Libraries Coordinator who is passionate about climate action with creative community engagement and programming.

The Coordinator will design and deliver sessions in Camden libraries and at The British Library. These sessions will enable attendees to develop, learn and share ideas for more sustainable everyday behaviour, and the benefits of positive climate change action.

They will also document and share the learning from these Camden activities, for replication in all Green Library Hubs across the UK, and more widely through the Library Authorities in the Living Knowledge Network.

The role holder will work jointly for Camden Libraries (2.5 days pw) and the British Library in St Pancras (2.5 days pw), for a fixed term of three years, as determined by the grant. This work is part of the wider National Lottery funded Green Libraries Hub Project, run by CILIP as part of the Green Libraries Campaign. 

You 

Applicants must demonstrate: 

  • Experience of facilitating creative community workshops and activities at a high standard of engagement for a range of users 
  • Demonstrated ability to make workshops accessible and inclusive for all in the context of a wide community.
  • Passion about and holds strong subject knowledge on environmental issues and carbon positive action and awareness.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills as appropriate, to organise well planned and prepared workshops to run efficiently and effectively.
