Forestry and Land Scotland is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Peatland Technical Advisor to join our national Planning and Environment team. This is a unique opportunity to lead on peatland restoration and management across Scotland’s national forests and land, contributing to climate change mitigation, biodiversity enhancement, and sustainable land use.

You’ll lead on technical advice for peatland restoration, working closely with regional teams, ecologists, and foresters to support large-scale projects funded by Scottish Government Peatland ACTION. You’ll also contribute to land management planning, infrastructure assessments, and national contract delivery, while promoting best practice across the organisation.

We’re looking for someone with hands-on experience in peatland restoration (particularly forest to bog projects) alongside strong ecological knowledge and excellent communication skills. You’ll be confident working across teams and advising on complex environmental projects.
