Conservation & WildlifeEcology

We are recruiting for a Bats in Churches Advisor to join our small and busy National Bat Helpline team as maternity cover. The National Bat Helpline are ambassadors for bats and their conservation, often being the first point of contact that a church community will have with BCT. The Bats in Churches Advisor will contribute to bat conservation by answering a wide range of enquiries from churches, by phone and email. They will provide resources, information, and guidance to churches with bats, building on and developing our advice, guidance, and training, with consideration of the needs of church communities.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills, who is able to understand the needs of a diverse range of people, able to inspire trust and respect with volunteers and church communities. The successful candidate will have experience in project management as well as knowledge of bat biology and ecology, and a solid grounding in the issues surrounding bats in churches.

We are a friendly and supportive workplace with an inspiring environmental mission. As a hybrid working organisation, we are flexible about home-working, we offer a 4% employer pension contribution, an Employee Assistance Programme, and time for learning, development, and volunteering.

BCT is a welcoming and inclusive organisation. We believe our work will be stronger with greater diversity and welcome applications from those who bring difference. We are committed to building a working environment in which all individuals are free from discrimination and in which opportunities are equal to all.

About Bat Conservation Trust

The Bat Conservation Trust is the leading non-governmental organisation in the United Kingdom solely devoted to the conservation of bats and the landscapes on which they rely. To achieve our vision of a world rich in wildlife where bats and people thrive together, our work focuses on discovering more about bats and how they use the landscape, taking action to protect bats and enhance the landscapes on which they rely, inspiring people about bats and their environment, engaging them in their conservation and strengthen our work by building skills, resources, motivation and understanding.
