About the Project
We run regular tree conservation sessions every two weeks across the Adur District of West Sussex. See www.treeactionuk.org

- Moving and spreading mulch
- Replacing tree stakes and guards
- General care and maintenance of community-planted trees
Each session lasts around 1½ hours, with 4–10 volunteers taking part. The sessions are also open to the public. Our aim is to support the health and survival of local trees while building community involvement in conservation.

- Overseeing safe working practices
- Coordinating and transporting materials and tools (spades, wheelbarrows, mulch, stakes, guards, etc.)
- Liaising with organisers to ensure each session runs smoothly
This role suits someone who enjoys working outdoors, leading small teams, and making a visible difference in local green spaces.
Requirements
- Experience or strong interest in tree care, conservation, or land management
- Confident leading and motivating small volunteer groups
- Reliable, organised, and safety-conscious
- Access to a van (or similar vehicle) to transport tools and materials between sites
- Full UK driving licence and relevant insurance (if transporting tools/materials)
We Offer
- Payment per session (plus fuel costs if transporting materials)
- All materials and guidance provided
- A friendly, supportive volunteer community
- Opportunity to contribute to visible environmental improvement across Adur District
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis — early contact encouraged.
