Project Officer - West Wales
West Wales Biodiversity Information Centre (WWBIC)
West Wales Biodiversity Information Centre (WWBIC) is looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and self-motivated individual to assist the WWBIC team in all elements of the ‘Your Wild Patch’ project - an exciting project aiming to build biodiversity identification and recording skills in the wider community. Over the course of the project, WWBIC will develop a system for individuals and groups to adopt their own patch for long-term recording and see how their records contribute to the local picture of biodiversity.
The successful candidate will have excellent organisational skills, the ability to work under their own initiative, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills. They will also have at least a basic understanding of wildlife identification, biological recording and GIS software.
A job description and application form is available on our website. The closing date is Monday 5th January. Documents are available in Welsh and English.
WWBIC is the Local Environmental Records Centre for the West Wales region. We manage a database of over 4 million species records and support biological recorders in our region. We work with a range of regional and national partners in Wales and our data and GIS products contribute to nature conservation and recovery throughout Wales.
