We now have an exciting opportunity for a Countryside Ranger (covering the Angus Glens) to join the Park Authority and work with both residents and visitors encouraging people to; safely and responsibly enjoy the National Park; learn about what is special; and positively contribute to this exceptional place.

The Role:
As one of our Countryside Rangers you will support and deliver strategies for the Ranger Service under the lead of the Ranger Manager. You will also work with partner ranger services to deliver the National Park Partnership Plan and Corporate Plan.
As a Countryside Ranger you will also be expected to collectively support and assist in delivering a number of service wide issues such as Seasonal Ranger recruitment, countryside surveys and maintenance etc. as required. In addition, you will be required to project manage outdoor learning and inclusion opportunities.
As the postholder, you will be working in the Angus Glens and North Perthshire area of the National Park including, Glen Doll, Glen Esk, Blair Atholl, Killiecrankie and other areas towards Deeside.

About You:
To be considered as one of our Countryside Rangers you’ll need:
- Experience of working in a countryside service or similar environment with a strong customer focus
- Experience of supervising staff particularly in countryside activities;
- Good understanding of outdoor access rights and responsibilities, natural and cultural heritage, and managing for visitors
- Experience of developing and delivering learning and engagement programmes and activities.
- Articulate with excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
- HND or equivalent qualification in a related discipline; or equivalent level experience within a similar role
- Experience of safety management;
- Experience in partnership working;
- Willingness and ability to work flexibly, over weekends and in evenings;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – verbal, written and presentational;
- IT skills – word processing, spread sheets, data bases;
- Full UK driving licence or access to driver if disability prevents driving.
- Experience of driving a range of vehicles in rural settings throughout the year.
- Permission to work in the UK
