About The Role

Caerlaverock is a stunning nature reserve situated on the north Solway coast. We are looking to recruit a motivated Reserve Warden to join our team.

You will assist in the management of the nature reserve at WWT Caerlaverock including the development and day to day running of the reserve under the guidance of the Centre Manager. This will include the management of habitats, reserve infrastructure, and species monitoring. In addition, the post holder will play an active role in both onsite and online engagement with our site and core conservation messaging.

This post will suit someone with reserve management experience, a good knowledge of surveying wetland species and great public engagement skills.

This role also involves some duty management responsibilities.

About You

To join as Reserve Warden you will have:

  • Agricultural/land-management experience including use of machinery and power tools.
  • Interpersonal/communication skills and experience of working with the general public.
  • Team working skills.
  • Biological fieldwork skills including excellent bird ID skills.
  • Livestock experience.
  • Computer skills including word processing and Excel.
  • A working knowledge of Health and Safety at Work.
