The role:

The University of Cambridge is seeking a knowledgeable and committed individual to join the University's Environmental Sustainability Team as their Biodiversity Manager.

Key responsibilities:

The role holder will be responsible for the development and implementation of policies, plans and projects that help to minimise the negative impact of University operations on biodiversity, and which maximise restoration and regeneration of ecosystems across the University's estate and operations. The role holder will lead work on the implementation of the University's Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) and develop high-level targets which address the University's wider impact on biodiversity.

About you:

In order to succeed in this role, you will join us with experience in developing policy and strategy related to biodiversity, as well as delivering projects which deliver biodiversity benefits. You have a background in ecology and conservation with experience of utilising ArcGIS or similar mapping programmes to map habitat condition, and experience of species recording and monitoring to measure against an approved biodiversity metric.
