The Sugar Loaf Regeneration Farm Partnership CIC (SLRFP CIC), supported by Stump Up For Trees, is seeking a Project Manager to coordinate a innovative ecological and agricultural recovery project under the Welsh Government’s Integrated Natural Resources Scheme (INRS). This is a hands-on role, central to delivering measurable environmental, social, and economic outcomes across the iconic Sugar Loaf Mountain landscape.

As Project Manager, you will oversee project delivery, budget management, financial reporting, stakeholder relationships, public engagement, and compliance with CIC and INRS requirements. You will work with farmers, landowners, conservation organisations, and government agencies, and lead the development of a long-term financing strategy for sustainable nature-based solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate project delivery in line with INRS objectives and CIC governance.
  • Manage budgets, financial reporting, and oversight of public and grant funding.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships
  • Liaise with key stakeholders
  • Lead public engagement activities and CIC member engagement.
  • Ensure accurate project monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
  • Manage suppliers, consultants, and external communications, including website updates.
  • Work with the Directors to develop and implement a sustainable finance strategy for post-project continuation.

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven project management experience in conservation, farming, or rural development.
  • Financial management experience, including oversight of public or grant funding.
  • Understanding of government land management and agri-environment schemes.
  • Experience working with landowners, farmers, and conservation organisations.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and management skills.
  • Proficient in IT (MS Office, Mailchimp, shared drives).
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to work independently in a hybrid setting.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Sugar Loaf Mountain and the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park.
  • Experience of regenerative agriculture, nature recovery, or habitat assessments.
  • Ability and willingness to undertake fieldwork in remote terrain.
  • Familiarity with Welsh Government agri-environment programmes and tendering guidance.
  • Welsh language skills (Level 1 or above).

What we offer:

  • £30,000–33,000 FTE pa pro rata, depending on experience
  • Hybrid working and flexible hours
  • 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays pro rata
  • Pension scheme
  • Structured and self-guided learning opportunities
  • Hands-on leadership of a small, dedicated team
  • The chance to deliver ecological restoration at landscape scale

This role is employed by Stump Up For Trees and seconded to the Sugar Loaf Regeneration Farm Partnership CIC, reporting directly to the CIC Directors.

This role would suit an experienced professional looking to move into, or further develop a career in, the environmental or charity sectors, offering a unique opportunity to shape the long-term recovery of an iconic Welsh landscape.

About Stump Up For Trees

Stump Up For Trees is an ambitious, community-based charity focused on woodland creation and enhancing biodiversity in the Brecon Beacons area of south-east Wales. Our vision is to engage our community of landowners, volunteers and local businesses in improving the treescape and enhancing biodiversity across our region. We raise funds in innovative ways in order to give grants to landowners to plant trees on land that is unproductive in agricultural terms, and poor in biodiversity.
