Ecology Practice Co-ordinator

As a continually growing practice, we have an exciting opportunity to support the business development of our ecology team. As a practice we pride ourselves on delivering a responsive and adaptable service to clients, providing high quality, pragmatic, solutions and outcomes. To support these objectives we are looking for someone with an ecological or environmental background or experience, who has, or wants to further develop their business knowledge and is looking to continue to develop their technical skills.
The primary focus is to support the effective day to day running of the Practice, providing support and co-ordination for business management and project delivery, through dealing with client enquiries, issue of fee proposals and reports, managing equipment and supporting delivery of surveys. The role offers the opportunity to retain or further develop technical skills through report updates, desk based studies and also survey experience.
The role is primarily office based - our offices are in Cropwell Bishop, with hours that can be flexible to suit the right candidate.
Key tasks
- Management of team email box
- Telephone and email client and enquiry management / liaison
- Logging and recording of fee requests and commissioned work
- Document creation/formatting;
- Issue of fee proposals/technical reports;
- Maintaining equipment location and maintenance registers
- Maintaining health and safety records and PPE management
- Vehicle maintenance co-ordination
- Accommodation and travel bookings
- Assisting with time recording/collating information
- Month-end collation of receipts and expenses
Key skills
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- High level of competence in Word and Excel.
- Ability to remain calm and focussed whilst adapting to programme changes
The ideal person will be self-motivated, keen to learn and develop and be able to evidence problem solving and able to work on their own initiative. You should be adaptable and flexible in your approach to task management and able to reprioritise according to commercial/operational requirements. An excellent sense of humour and ‘can do’ approach are also essential.
Our normal working hours are Monday to Friday -08:30 to 17:30 and the role is expected to require 25-35 hours split across 5 days within these times.
