In this role, key activities will include:

  • Driving the roll out of systems change campaigns in all four countries of the UK
  • Recruiting and line managing professional volunteers to provide expert guidance or deliver campaigns.
  • Maintaining technical expertise and analysis of external context relating to the current campaign and challenges facing nature, and up to date best practice in campaigning.
  • Ensuring compliance with legal, Charity Commission, and internal policy on campaigning standards.

What we need from you:

  • A passion for nature, to tackle the challenges facing it, and for campaigning!
  • Relevant experience to effectively deliver the responsibilities and tasks of this role, including demonstrable senior-level campaigning experience.
  • Ability not only see the big picture and understand and work to change complex systems affecting nature - but to galvanise others behind a shared commitment to what needs to happen
  • Ability to direct where, when and how to apply campaigning pressure for maximum impact, and experience of a variety of creative offline and offline campaign approaches.

  • Excellent time management skills to focus own time on the highest priorities.

About RSPB

The RSPB is a charity for the conservation of birds and nature. We bring people together who love birds and other wildlife, and who want to take action to restore the health and diversity of the natural world. We carry out conservation on a large scale, protect and restore habitats, and save species from extinction. We’re living in a nature and climate emergency, and we won’t stop whilst the threats persist. We believe our work makes a real difference to the world we live in. It takes a great team to save nature and we need a wide range of skills to make it happen. As an RSPB employee, you will be helping to save nature every time you come to work. There’s never been a more important time to protect our wildlife and wild places, so we want to make sure you feel rewarded for everything you help us to achieve.
