About the role

We are looking for an Active Travel Project Officer to play a key role in delivering practical, on-the-ground active travel improvements across the district and to promote sustainable transport and encourage positive changes in travel behaviour.

In this role, you will champion active travel by improving and connecting walking, wheeling and cycling networks across the district. The post will involve close collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders including West Sussex County Council, Parish and Neighbourhood Councils and community groups, and help ensure everyday journeys become safer, more accessible and enjoyable for people of all ages.

You will also be able to work under clear instruction and independently, and use your initiative to develop, recommend and progress solutions. Excellent partnership building skills and the ability to lead multi-agency initiatives is essential.

For an informal discussion about this role please email Catherine Howe, Head of Strategic Planning at [email protected].
