Landscape Architect/Ecologist

As a continually growing practice, we have an exciting opportunity to support the development of our business. As a practice we pride ourselves on delivering a responsive and adaptable service to clients, providing high quality, pragmatic, solutions and outcomes. To support these objectives, we are looking for someone with landscape architect/design with ideally an ecological background or experience, who has, or wants to further develop, skills and knowledge and in a dual-focussed role.

The primary focus is to provide leadership, direction and technical expertise to further develop the landscape design area of our practice, particularly with relevance to delivery of Biodiversity Net Gain. The role will include a mix of office and site-based work and offers the opportunity to retain or further develop technical skills and qualifications in both landscape and ecology.

Key Tasks

• Soft landscape design
• Habitat creation/planting plans
• Habitat Management and Maintenance Plans
• Landscape and Environmental Management Plans
• Landscape Visual Impact Assessments

Key Skills

• A degree in a relevant discipline
• Knowledge of the planning process and its relevance to landscape and development
• Understanding of wider benefits of landscape design (Nature-Based Solutions, Natural Capital, climate resilience, Environmental Net Gain, SuDS, urban greening etc)
• High level of competence in Word and Excel with excellent graphic and drafting skill, including CAD based packages.
• Ability to remain calm and focussed whilst adapting to program changes

The ideal person will be self-motivated, keen to learn and develop and be able to evidence problem solving and able to work on their own initiative. You should be adaptable and flexible in your approach to task management and able to reprioritise according to commercial/operational requirements. An excellent sense of humour and ‘can do’ approach are also essential. Membership of the Landscape Institute or similar would be an advantage.

Our normal working hours are Monday to Friday 08:30 to 17:30
