About the role

As a Specialist in the Habitat creation team, you will be responsible for delivering habitat creation and enhancement projects safely, on-time and to budget. You would work closely with our team of Land Managers, Ecologists and Applied-Ecologists to deliver habitat creation works across your region. Works would include creation and enhancement of a range of habitats including, woodland and scrub, species rich grassland, wetland, and associated infrastructure works.

We are looking for candidates nationwide (except Scotland and Wales).

Responsibilities

The Habitat Delivery Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of assigned habitat sites or delivery packages:

  • Day-to-day project management including planning and execution of delivery activities, tracking progress via site level delivery plans, reporting against agreed milestones and targets
  • Accurate planning and tracking of budgets against agreed spend profiles and updating forecasts for approval to variance
  • Appointment of contractors and suppliers in line with EB policies and requirements, agreeing contract terms
  • Contractor and supplier coordination on site
  • Management of on-site progress, quality and issue resolution, escalating risks, issues and changes where impacts exceed agreed tolerances
  • Accurate reporting of delivery progress, risks and issues
  • Reviewing Construction Phase Plan or equivalent (including Incident Response Plan), reviewing delivery methodology and providing input to the project risk register.
  • Managing contractor KPIs
  • Ensure delivery meets ecological, regulatory, contractual and quality requirements
  • Support health, safety and environmental compliance across all site activities
  • Address defects, non-conformances and delivery issues promptly and effectively
  • Support value-for-money delivery without compromising ecological or delivery outcomes
  • Maintain high quality relationships with landowners, their contractors, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Practical hands-on delivery experience in agricultural land-based, i.e. farm contract management, or habitat delivery environments
  • Experience managing contractors and on-site works
  • Solid project management experience i.e. budgets, delivery plans, schedules and delivery constraints
  • Experience of working directly with farmers and/or landowners, in a professional capacity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work as part of team.
  • Strong organisation and planning capability
  • Clear communication and reporting discipline
  • Practical problem-solving in live delivery environments
  • Ability to balance quality, time and cost under site-level pressures
  • Full UK clean driving license and willingness to travel for regional site visits and events

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Familiarity with regulated delivery environments or assurance-led programmes
  • Awareness of APM-aligned project controls (plans, risks and reporting)
  • A Health and Safety qualification e.g. NEBOSH/IOSH.
