About the Role

Are you passionate about wildlife and conservation? KCT is looking for a motivated self-employed individual to join our small but dedicated team, helping us to conserve wildlife and places of beauty in our local area. As Conservation Officer, you would be responsible for carrying out wildlife surveys, including breeding bird surveys, managing volunteer surveyors, helping manage our existing nature reserves, carrying out practical habitat management, working with our Governors and Support Coordinator to plan and deliver new projects in the local area, working with other local land managers and wildlife organisations on partnership projects, helping deliver events for our members and the public, and collating and entering wildlife records into Recorder. You would have scope to tailor elements of the role to suit your areas of expertise or interest. The contract is for 6 months initially but with potential to extend.

This role is exciting, varied and flexible. It would suit someone with initiative, a passion for wildlife, and the ability to prioritise and balance a diverse workload and meet deadlines. KCT has an excellent reputation locally and nationally for our conservation work, despite our small size, and we are looking for an enthusiastic naturalist to enhance our team and help us deliver our goals. About Kemerton Conservation Trust

Kemerton Conservation Trust (KCT) is a registered charity which aims to conserve wildlife and places of beauty in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and adjoining counties for the public benefit. Much of the Trust’s activity takes place in the area surrounding Bredon Hill in south Worcestershire, where there is a concentration of traditionally-managed farmland and woodland habitats and flood meadows which are exceptionally rich in fauna and flora. The Trust manages a wide variety of important sites for the benefit of wildlife, including six nature reserves with public access. Through preservation and restoration of existing sites and new habitat creation, the Trust aims to ensure that nature can flourish now and into the future.
