Remote Senior/Principal Ecologist

Greenwillows Associates Ltd are looking for an experienced Ecologist, working remotely, this will essentially be a desk based role enabling you to combine a high level of knowledge to help shape our projects, provide advice, and support the development of team members.

Here are the key responsibilities for this remote role, you will organise ecological surveys and projects, helping to develop early years ecologists and have the opportunity for the following:
- Engage with clients to define project scope, review proposals and provide guidance on ecological considerations
- Manage complex projects such as quoting, surveying, reporting, and implementation, ensuring timely delivery, resource optimization and client satisfaction.
- Prepare ecological reports and management plans and carry out quality assurance reviews for work produced by assistant ecologists and ecologists.
- Partner with other ecologists and statutory organizations to plan surveys and deliver client
- expectations.
- Line-manage and mentor ecologists, supporting their development in report writing, habitat mapping, and broader technical skills.
- Monitor project budgets and collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate and timely invoicing for completed work.
- Provide a balanced perspective aligned with company values, while maintaining a strong awareness of commercial and financial viability.
You will need these essential requirements:
Previous experience in ecological consultancy as a senior or principal
Personal survey licences in at least two protected species.
Full Member of CIEEM
Experience in high quality habitat maps using software such as QGIS and Coreo
Knowledge of ecological legislation and best practice
Highly organised and motivated with excellent communication and IT skills
