Are you passionate about sustainability and empowering communities to take action on energy and carbon reduction?
At Community First Yorkshire, we are delivering an ambitious project, the North Yorkshire Energy Collective, funded by York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority. We’re looking for a Community Energy Officer to lead this exciting initiative, helping community buildings on their journey to carbon neutrality and inspiring local energy projects that make a real difference.
What you’ll be doing
In this impactful, community-focused role, you’ll help village halls and community buildings cut carbon, explore community energy opportunities, and build confidence through friendly events, training and practical guidance. You’ll offer tailored support on funding and energy saving measures, bring partners together for projects like a countywide Climathon, and help shape a new Community Energy Cooperative for North Yorkshire.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone proactive, people-centred and passionate about sustainability, with experience in community engagement, project delivery and inspiring others to take action.
If you’re motivated by making a tangible difference and enjoy collaborative working, this role offers a unique opportunity to shape a greener future for North Yorkshire.
For an informal chat about the role, contact Victoria Russell, Projects Manager: [email protected].
Closing date for applications: 9am on Wednesday 25 March.
Interviews: Tuesday 7 April in person. Location to be confirmed.
