Background

BRDT’s HEAT project is funded by the Energy Redress Scheme. We are looking for a full time Energy Advisor to join our team providing a home energy advice service throughout Perth and Kinross.

The post is initially until 30 November 2027 but may be extended subject to future funding.

A relevant qualification in home energy advice is required

Role

To run home energy survey and advice service.

Key objectives and responsibilities

  • Provide a home energy advice service in Perth & Kinross through home visits, remote advice and at events.
  • Liaise with the HEAT team – Project Manager, Energy Advisor, Marketing Officer.
  • Maintain systems and procedures relating to reporting and data collection.
  • Contribute to the work of the team as required by BRDT.

Scope of the job

  • Tackle fuel poverty, reduce energy debt and provide advice to vulnerable households.
  • Provide one to one support via; targeted in-depth advice via home surveys, telephone and email support, and light touch advice at events and in person surgeries.
  • Encourage and support individual households to increase the uptake of energy saving measures (draft proofing, insulation etc), adoption of small-scale renewables such as solar panels, and behaviour change.
  • Provide advice on funding support and tariffs.
  • Assist clients with supplier complaints.
  • Support under-represented communities.
  • Attend at community events and surgeries.
  • Utilise partnerships to identify those in need and make outward referrals.
  • Help maintain a confidential CRM.
