We are looking for a driven and proactive Operations and Development Manager to lead the day-to-day running and future growth of our organisation.

Due to the nature of the role and the need to build strong local relationships, applicants must already be based within a one-hour travel distance of Fort William.

This role offers real autonomy and the opportunity to shape how the organisation grows. The performance-related bonus reflects the importance of developing income and delivering measurable impact.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading the day-to-day operations of the organisation, including oversight of team, projects, and communications
  • Managing organisational systems (with support from a bookkeeper)
  • Acting as a key point of contact for partners, stakeholders, and the wider community
  • Building and maintaining relationships with local businesses and organisations
  • Developing partnerships that drive both income and brand recognition
  • Identifying and progressing sustainable income opportunities, including commercial activity and visitor-based income streams
  • Leading funding applications and grant opportunities

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in a management, coordination, or leadership role
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload
  • A proactive, self-starting approach with the confidence to take ownership
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • An interest in community-focused work and creating long-term impact
  • Must already be based within 1 hour of Fort William

Founded in 2002 to care for the natural and cultural heritage and wild land areas of Ben Nevis and surrounding landscape, we promote thoughtful access, enjoyment and appreciation of Ben Nevis and Glen Nevis, by working in partnership and cooperation with the various landowners and stakeholders in the area.
